CHALLENGES FOR OUR NEW GENERATION OF ATHLETES

There is no doubt that the players of this generation are more complex and demanding than the players of previous generations, and this is due to the accelerated pace in which they are developing, driven in large part, by the knowledge provided by better coaches at all levels, the technology implementation, and the early maturity with which the current system requires them to develop.
In my experience as a coach, scout and father, I think that if we see these technological resources as an ally instead of a rival, and understand the process that these young people face, we can impact quicker and more effectively in the lives of our boys. ...............
We must understand that Latino boys, begin to train at independent academies several years before being signed as professionals, learn to become independent without being prepared for this sudden change, and are exposed to situations, where many times the best advice they receive is from the internet, or from one of his companions (many times of the same age).
Our players do the right thing by being challenging and demanding clear and concrete answers, and quite rightly, since their father figure in many cases is limited or non-existent, and their refuge "the internet", offered him a number of answers that It makes question any information that we can present.
We must analyze their reality in order to be able to convey the right message by communicating with them, because at the end of the day, we are not simply their trainers, but also and without realizing it, we are the closest they have to their father figures.
